March 4th 2010 - Technology Innovation Awards Sponsored by General Dynamics UK
Leading Security and Resilience solutions provider sponsors Equipment and Technology Innovation Awards 2010
A|D|S, the UK's AeroSpace, Defence and Security trade organisation today (Thursday) announced that leading Security and Resilience solutions provider General Dynamics UK Limited is the headline sponsor for the Equipment and Technology Innovation (ETI) awards event to be held at the Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB) 2010 exhibition. HOSDB takes place at Farnborough, Hampshire from 16 to 18 March 2010 and is the UK's only secure event for displaying the latest security equipment for law enforcement and public security.
The ETI awards were launched jointly five years ago by the Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB) and Association of Police and Public Security Suppliers (APPSS, now part of A|D|S). The awards provide a showcase for ground-breaking security innovations and to encourage manufacturers and the security agencies to work together to find hi-tech answers to operational problems. The awards will be presented at a gala dinner sponsored by QinetiQ and Tecnocover.
Ian Godden, Chairman of A|D|S, said:
"Officers in the frontline of the security sector are the best people to know which equipment works for them, what could be improved and what they need to make their job more efficient. This is why many innovations come about through an idea that is initiated by a member of the security forces. The ETI Awards were put in place to recognise these innovative individuals as well as the companies that go on to devise and manufacture the products or technology to turn their ideas into reality - keeping us safe into the bargain."
Dr Sandy Wilson, President and Managing Director, General Dynamics UK Limited said: “The ETI Awards are an ideal showcase for inspiration and innovation in our security and manufacturing industries, and General Dynamics UK is happy to be associated with them. General Dynamics UK has a long history of helping SMEs bring cutting edge products to market through our EDGE facility in South Wales for example and we look forward to seeing the exciting new designs that the awards generate.”
